Insurer to engage Hong Kongers through a flurry of exciting online and offline activities
Hong Kong, 29 November 2017 – FWD becomes Platinum Sponsor of the 2017 FIA Formula E Hong Kong E-Prix (“Hong Kong E-Prix”), to be held at Central Harbourfront on December 2-3. This is the second time that the city will host the exhilarating, all-electric racing event, inaugurating Season Four of the FIA Formula E Championship (the “Championship”), and also the second consecutive year that FWD will support the festivities as Platinum Sponsor.
Following the success of last year’s Hong Kong E-Prix, the city will become the first in Asia to host a double-header (two races), in which teams will vie for victory on a 1.8 km circuit racing past local iconic landmarks including the International Finance Centre, the Hong Kong Observation Wheel and Hong Kong City Hall.
Tim Oliver, FWD Group Chief Commercial Officer, explained, “Formula E is an ever-growing and dynamic world-class event and we are delighted to be Platinum Sponsor again for a second year in a row. At FWD, our vision is to change the way people feel about insurance through innovative and technology-driven solutions and by encouraging people to celebrate living. Taking part in the Hong Kong E-Prix is a logical step for us and we’ll be bringing the excitement of the event to the public at large through a series of engagement activities.
Under the theme of “Conquer the wind. Drive new possibilities,” FWD will host games with fabulous prizes at its booth (No. T23) in the E-Village to prompt the public to overcome headwinds and drive forward to open up new possibilities in their lives. This year, FWD has invited popular local music band ToNicK to play at its booth, where they will interact with participants and stream a Facebook live session.
FWD will also engage the public through various other online and offline channels in the days leading up to the event. A TV commercial is broadcasted on Viu TV and NOW TV –the Hong Kong E-Prix official broadcasters -and other online media. Meanwhile, stories from contributors including Hong Kong’s leading female race car driver Denise Yeung (https://www.facebook.com/deniseyeung888) are posted to raise awareness.
Customers and fans of FWD were provided the opportunities to win or redeem free Hong Kong E-Prix admission tickets, and responded overwhelmingly to the series of online redemption activities (terms & conditions applied):
FWD hopes that as the engines roar and the tension rises in one of the world’s most vibrant cities, spectators will be reminded of the ever-present need to pursue their passion and live their lives to the fullest.
